Learn to Sail at OYC
Our Beginner Program
OYC offers beginning learn to sail classes year round for kids starting at age 8 as part of our Summer, After School, and Weekend programs.
All OYC Beginner Classes feature certified instructors teaching the essential elements needed to sail a small boat safely.
Students at OYC are provided with their own personal boat for the course, which they will learn to rig, derig, and sail.
OYC coaches provide on the water supervision, advice, and support.
Fall After School
OYC is offering a beginner class as part of our Spring and Fall After School Program.

Summer Program
Summer Learn-To-Sail Beginner classes are two weeks in duration with three hours of class per day. OYC offers morning and afternoon beginner sessions
Summer Enrollment opens Mar 1st for OYC Members and Mar 14th for the general public.

High School Sailing
OYC has partnered with Coastal Academy High School in Oceanside to offer beginner sailing classes for credit. OYC offers several classes to CAH students, and were always open to working with other schools to develop a sailing curriculum.
